Us Too
If I do this and let that happen, then maybe
she will feel remorse and seek help?
Created in collaboration with Doctoral Researcher Ros Walling-Wefelmeyer & The Cobweb Orchestra, Us Too is a digital soundscape that weaves together classical and electronic music, with the testimonies of survivors of domestic abuse.

The installation premiered alongside The Bowes Museum’s Autumn 2019 exhibition The Power and The Virtue: Guido Reni’s Death of Lucretia; dedicated to the Italian Baroque master, and his female heroines & saints. The soundscape is of particular relevance to Reni’s Death of Lucretia, since this important painting highlights the historical impact of sexual abuse, which is frequently a component of domestic abuse.
Us Too was commissioned by Changing Relations & funded by Arts Council England to demystify societal ideas about who can be affected by domestic abuse; exploring who can be a victim-survivor and who can be a perpetrator.
